The situation in Gaza has long been characterised as a humanitarian catastrophe. The blockade of this narrow strip of land by land, air and sea that Israel has imposed since 2007, in itself has caused enormous shortages and degradation of living conditions. The repeated bombing raids have killed and injured thousands of Palestinians, including large numbers of children.
Due to this situation there is an urgent need to send medicines so that lives can be saved.
The Cyprus Peace Council, responding to the appeal issued by Palestinian organizations, addresses an urgent appeal to those who can contribute towards the collection of medicines to contact the Cyprus-Palestinian Friendship Association via the email address nicossergi@yahoo.com or by phone 99557173.
