The Cyprus Peace Council is organizing a protest meeting to denounce the imperialist coup in Venezuela on Monday 11th February 17:00 p.m. outside the American Embassy in Nicosia.
We denounce the imperialist intervention in the internal affairs of Venezuela aiming at the overthrow of President Nicholas Maduro and the recognition of the illegal self-proclaimed interim “president”, Juan Guaido, by the US, the EU and their allied governments in Latin America. The ultimate goal of these machinations is none other than the control Venezuela’s rich oil reserves and other natural resources.
We denounce the threats issued for a military intervention and send out the message “Hands off Venezuela!”
We express our full solidarity and support to the people of Venezuela and those forces within the country that are struggling to defend its sovereignty. The people of Venezuela, like every people, have the right to decide themselves their own future without any foreign interventions and the ones solely responsible for choosing their government.
